ESCADA, Munich, June 24, 2016: On June 23, 2016 ESCADA celebrated the opening of its new flagship store in Duesseldorf, Koenigsallee 30, with an exclusive Grand Opening Event. The flagship store at Koenigsallee 30 is the first store, designed in the new ESCADA store design concept called ‘The Lounge’.

ESCADA is very proud to launch the new ESCADA store design concept in the heart of the German fashion city Duesseldorf. ‘The Lounge’ is a charming space with a high glamour quotient and allows the customer to feel like walking into a beautiful living room.

At the Grand Opening Event Megha Mittal, ESCADA Chairman, and Joerg Wahlers, ESCADA CFO and COO, welcomed around 200 national and international guests from the worlds of fashion, art and culture. The evening’s guests included style icon Olivia Palermo and artist Valéria Nascimento as well as Julia Stegner, Tatjana Patitz, Nadja Auermann, Lena Gercke, and Cato van Ee, the face of the new campaign.

The event inspiration ‘Embrace the past, Celebrate the present, Inspire the future’ was underlined by elegant ESCADA vintage clothing, which was displayed on busts and outlined the defining moments in the history of ESCADA.

A highlight of the evening was the exclusive fashion show with selected looks from the new Fall/Winter 2016 collection. The intense colour palette of red, blue and yellow tones with the accentuated feminine silhouette interprets the modern glamour of the collection. Heritage styles have been revised and reinterpreted with new techniques and surprising looks – a homage to the past with an eye trained firmly on the future.

At the opening, ESCADA launches the limited edition handbag ESCADA ML40 Duesseldorf Edition. The ESCADA ML40 is a reference to Margaretha Ley, ESCADA founder and visionary. The special edition ML40 Duesseldorf is available in midi size and in the limited colour combination taupe with pink.

The event was accompanied by an extensive charity campaign. For each social media post using the hashtag #ESCADADuesseldorf, ESCADA donated ten Euro to the charity organization Pink Ribbon Germany. Pink Ribbon is an international charity organisation, which aims to create a global community to support breast cancer patients, survivors and their families all over the world.

The 230 sqm store in Duesseldorf’s luxury shopping district ‘Koenigsallee’ offers the ESCADA ready-to-wear collection, accessories and evening-wear.
